Child killed by falling television set

Authorities got the call at the Diplomat apartments on Reims near Harwin in southwest Houston. They say the TV fell on a three-year-old child. It's unknown how the TV came loose.

Today's incident is at least the third time this year that a television has fallen on a child in our area. Two kids were injured in May.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says 36 people, mostly children, died from televisions tipping over between 2000 and 2005.
