Around 10:45pm, a car with three people inside slowed down on the North Beltway because of mechanical problems. That car was hit from behind by a driver who authorities believe was speeding at the time.
The people inside the car that was hit were rescued and taken to the hospital in serious condition. The driver in the other car wasn't hurt.
