HOUSTON She's a high school hoops star and she is staying in Texas for college. Brittney Griner became known around the nation after video of her dunking in a game surfaced on television and on the Internet. This morning, the 6'7" Nimitz high star signed her letter of intent to play for the Baylor Bears.
"This is a big relief for me, getting it off my shoulders. I have it set," said Griner. "Baylor is my school."
ESPN considers Griner the top women's basketball recruit in the country.
Her teammate at Nimitz, guard Jessica Diamond signed with Wichita State today.
