City says no to inflatable ads

The ordinance prohibits items like inflatable animals and clowns often seen floating over businesses near local freeways. The city calls them dangerous because they can distract drivers. Businesses owners argue the inflatable ads are needed bring in customers. "You just gotta have balloons, some way or another," insisted Party Boy owner Bob Wright. "Regulate them, charge me a hundred bucks… I don't care. But it does work and it does get attention."

The ban also prohibits motion-driven devices, strobes and spotlights.
