It broke out at the Greenstar Recycling Plant around 2:30pm on Brittmoore and Westview. It took about 75 firefighters to battle this massive blaze.

Bails and bundles of recyclable paper goods caught fire. Some piles of cardboard were stacked 15 feet high. Fire investigators believe the fire started somewhere in the bundles. The bound cardboard fire was a tough one for firefighters to put out.

"These things are bound together real tight. They create a lot of heat," said Assistant Chief Jack Williams with the Houston Fire Department. "They are real difficult to put out because you can put the outside out but the inside tends to hold a lot of heat."

There is no cause yet. Arson crews will investigate. No one was hurt.
