Fire breaks out in apartment leasing office

HOUSTON The blaze broke out around 2am in the leasing office of the complex on Westview near Gessner. Firefighters were able to put out the flames but the building will have to be torn down.

"The good news is that no occupants were living in the building so none of the citizens were injured," said Deputy Chief Terry Stone with the Houston Fire Department.

No apartments were affected. A firefighter suffered cramps or muscle spasms during the ordeal. He went to the hospital to get checked out.
