The victim, William Morejon, 17, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The juvenile victim suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital. He is expected to survive his injuries.
According to police, Morejon and his friends were confronted by a group of males and then got into a physical fight at 6301 West Bellfort on August 21, 2008. During the fight, the juvenile suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Morejon and the second victim.
Witnesses helped police identify the 16-year-old male as the suspect in this case.
