An elderly woman had to be evacuated from her home because of a house fire next door. The flames broke out around 11pm Saturday on Blodgett at Almeda. It took firefighters a little while to get the fire out. During the process, they were concerned that the blaze might spread to another house where a 98-year-old woman lives.

They evacuated her but luckily her home wasn't affected. No one was injured.
