Flash flooding strands drivers

HOUSTON Flash flooding along Highway 59 and the Beltway on the northeast side of Houston caught many motorists by surprise. Some drivers became trapped last night by the high water, leading to lots of frustration.

"We got stuck in the middle of the intersection and then I pushed my car over there where it was dry," said driver James Richardson. "And then the next thing I knew the water came up and flooded up here, too."

With the water still high today, barricades have been set up to keep drivers from entering the area.

The good news is once this rain passes, we're in for a beautiful weekend.
