A mother is under arrest after her preschool children were reportedly found home alone.According to the Precinct 4 constables office, deputies were called to the Apple Creek apartments on Cypresswood at Kuykendahl where three girls under the age of 5 were found home alone. A four-year-old girl was in the apartment with twin one-year-old girls in a back bedroom with the door locked. That bedroom was reportedly full of feces.

Heather Lynn Vaughan, 27, was arrested and faces three charges of child endangerment. Authorities say Vaughan went to a party in Conroe and never came home. The girls were apparently left alone overnight Monday night, and possibly even longer.

Children's Protective Services is also investigating. The children were examined by doctors, and appear to be in good health. The girls are now in the custody of their father, who does not live with the children's mother.
