Reward offered in rapper's murder case

HOUSTON On the night of May 1, 2006, Hawkins went to meet a friend at a home on Redfern near Orem in southeast Houston. Hawkins arrived before his friend and an unknown person shot Hawkins several times. Hawkins died three weeks after he got married.

Meshah Hawkins, John's widow, said, "He was murdered so violently, so brutally, and as Sgt. Carillo stated, there are not many clues. There are not many leads."

Crime Stoppers and private donors have offered a $10,000 reward in this case. Anyone with information about Hawkins' murder is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
