Garcia's campaign says Thomas pulled out at the last minute. But Thomas says he isn't trying to get out of anything because he never agreed to be part of the debate sponsored by the League of Women Voters.
The incumbent sheriff adds that he always had a scheduling conflict and that he is open to an alternate date.
