Air support called in mosquito fight

HOUSTON The problem has gotten to the point where Harris County has called in aerial support to help the trucks spraying on the ground.

Three aircraft will begin spraying 300 feet in the air in east Harris County and will continue westward covering almost a million acres over six days.

The insecticide Dibrom is being sprayed. It is EPA approved and the planes have sensors to ensure the insecticide is sprayed in an efficient aerosol cloud.

Spraying began Wednesday night and will continue for the next five nights from 8:30pm to 4am moving from east to west Harris County.

Relief should be immediate as the insecticide kills mosquitoes on contact.
