Perry's office says 33,000 in shelters

Governor Rick Perry's office also said the latest figures show there are also 317 shelters in operation Tuesday -- four days after Hurricane Ike roared into Texas at Galveston.

Monday, there were about 34,000 people in 295 shelters.
