Petty Officer Patrick Kelley said at least 150 people were reportedly trapped. Four helicopters were sent to rescue the residents. The Coast Guard ended up rescuing 94 people and four pets.

Four Coast Guard Jayhawk 60 helicopters had been going back and forth to rescue people, but could only rescue three to four people at a time. Plus, once the winds kicked up, they were too small to continue their rescue missions and largers choppers were called in.

Some of the rescued residents were taken to UTMB and others were taken to Ellington Field. No word of any injuries.

Around 5pm, teh Coast Guard ceased their rescue missions to Bolivar.
