Meeting tonight on proposed senior citizen home

HOUSTON Developers want to convert the now closed Magnolia Glen assisted living center into new housing for seniors. They had initially proposed transforming the center into housing for the homeless, but those plans were scrapped after neighbors complained.

To buy the property, developers need city approval to get about $6 million in the form of HUD grants.

The meeting tonight is scheduled for 6:30pm at a community center at 4504 Leeland.
