Possible levee break threatens homes

NEW ORLEANS All of this happened Monday once the storm moved through. The private levee on the St. Bernard Parish line is protecting the Braithwaite area. The water in the rose seven feet in one hour and started pouring over in one spot.

Crews have been sandbagging and hope this will prevent the levee from overtopping anymore. The levee is protecting 125-200 homes.

This isn't the only levee that's had problems in New Orleans. The Industrial canals were close to the danger zone Monday. Water there rose to within a foot of the top and winds whipped the water right over the top. At last check, the water is going down there and the levees seem to be holding.
