A Conroe man is charged with capital murder for the death of an autistic three-year-old child.Last Thursday, the child was taken to Hermann Hospital with possible signs of abuse. Hospital officials contacted the Conroe Police Department. Officers interviewed the child's mother and her boyfriend at the hospital.

Early Saturday morning, hospital officials alerted police that the child had died.

The Harris County Medical Examiner's Office performed an autopsy. Initial results showed the child suffered what appeared to be a serious injury to the back of the head, a broken left arm, multiple bruises in different stages of healing, and what appeared to be burns to the bottom of the child's feet.

As a result of the investigation and evidence at hand, a warrant for one count of capital murder was issued for Chase Cannon, 27. Cannon was located and arrested during a traffic stop on Tuesday. He remains in the Montgomery County jail with no bond.
