Conflicting stories after wreck on 290

HOUSTON A Ford Expedition hit the wall of the Northwest Freeway near Bauer early this morning. A second car then smashed into the wall. That driver suffered several broken bones. The SUV driver wasn't hurt.

The driver of the Expedition told authorities three people in a third car, a Ford Focus, tried to rob him and chased him on the freeway. Police found the Focus in Waller. The occupants claimed it was the SUV driver who tried to rob them.

No charges will be filed until investigators figure out what really happened.
