Sergeant accused of attempted indecency with child

BRAZORIA CO., TX Charles Bankston, Jr., 38, is accused of inappropriately touching a 15-year-old girl. He was booked on Friday evening, posted a $7,500 bond and was reportedly released 20 minutes later.

Bankston reportedly resigned his position from the sheriff's office while he was being taken into custody.

Attempted indecency with a child by contact is a third-degree felony. If convicted, Bankston faces up to 10 years in prison.
