Drivers to get briefing on Katy Fwy. toll lanes

August 14, 2008 5:56:25 AM PDT
Today, the Harris County Toll Road Authority begins briefing area drivers on the future of tolls on the Katy Freeway. In October, so-called 'High Occupancy Toll Lanes' will open along I-10 between the West Loop and Highway 6. The new toll lanes will replace the current HOV lanes. Buses and carpoolers will still get to ride on the faster lanes for free, but single drivers will have to pay a toll to get where they want to go faster.

The first of five meetings is tonight at 6pm at the Kendall Library on Memorial Drive.
