Stuck trucker rescued in east Houston

HOUSTON It happened along Interstate 10 and Thompson Road after a trucker attempted a left turn and slid into a ditch. Firefighters helped the man get out safely.

We spoke with him right after his rescue.

"What were you thinking to yourself right after that happened?" we asked him.

"I was just hoping the trailer didn't flip over the tractor," he answered. "I didn't want anything hitting me in the head."

it's just another example of why driving in high water isn't a good idea. Once water totally covers an area, even up close it's nearly impossible to tell where the road ends and a ditch begins.

Another trucker drove that point home later in the day when he became stuck in the exact same place.
