Coast Guard recovers body off Freeport

The Coast Guard has recovered a body in the Gulf of Mexico off Freeport after a powerboat overturned and dumped five people in the water. Petty Officer Renee Aiello early Wednesday confirmed a body has been recovered in the search area.

Aiello declined to say whether the individual was the last person sought after Sunday's accident in which an 18-foot powerboat overturned about 12 miles off Freeport. But Aiello told The Associated Press that the search has been suspended after the recovery of the body Tuesday.

Three boaters were rescued Sunday.

A fourth person, a man, was rescued Monday afternoon on an oil rig.
