Pair arrested in hotel room

HOUSTON The suspects, who were inside a room at the Baymont Inn on the North Freeway near FM 1960, got an unexpected knock on the door this morning. When they answered, law enforcement tells us they made a big discovery.

Harris County sheriff's deputies unloaded more than two dozen stolen guns, computers, jewelry and even some drugs from the hotel room. They took a man and woman into custody and tell us a vehicle description from the scene of a burglary yesterday ultimately led them there.

"Generally, on firearms and things like that, they're not going to stay there long. That stuff probably would have hit the street today and it would have been a lot harder to track down," said Lt. Willard Rogers with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. "We're just very happy that we could get them all in one spot and get them off the street."

Both the man and woman face burglary charges. The man also faces weapons charges. Authorities don't know right now if all of the weapons came from one burglary or multiple. It's all still under investigation.
