Recovered eagle released

BENTON, LA Bo Boehringer, spokesman for the state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, says the eagle was released Wednesday in the same area it was found.

State wildlife agents said the eagle was found May 21 around the edge of the lake near the Cypress Nature Study Center.

A local wildlife veterinarian began the rehabilitation process but the young bird would not fly. Wildlife agents later took the bird to the LSU Rehabilitation Facility in Baton Rouge to get it ready to be on its own.
