Firefighters battle apartment fire

HOUSTON The blaze broke out just before 4pm at the Leeward Apartments on East Medical Center Boulevard. Firefighters with Webster, Seabrook, Kemah, Forest Brook and HFD responded to the scene.

At this time, no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

One resident told Eyewitness News a fire also started in a vacant unit at the complex around 11am.
