A city of Houston employee is facing charges and another is in critical condition after a shooting at a public works facility on the southwest side.Police say the two co-workers -- Natasha Akins, 24, and 41-year old Dave Whitfield, Jr., 41 -- had an altercation several months ago, and apparently had another dispute this morning. Eyewitnesses told police Akins walked right up to Whitfield and shot him multiple times. He was struck in the arm, leg and torso.

The shooting happened at a city maintenance building on Beechnut near an HPD substation. Officers arrested Akins as she tried to drive away.

Whitfield is in the hospital but he is expected to recover. Akins will be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
