Thieves target jewelry store in broad daylight

HOUSTON It happened at the Nacol & Co. Fine Jewelry store on San Felipe and Sage in the Galleria area. The suspects handcuffed the store owner and a woman inside the store, then robbed the business.

As the suspects were leaving, the owner managed to get out of his handcuffs, grab a shotgun and open fire on the suspects. The suspects took off in a minivan going north on Sage.

It's not known if the suspects were hit by the gunfire.

The owner was taken to the hospital by ambulance for injuries he sustained from being pistol whipped.
