Couple killed during invasion remembered

The lives of a Pasadena couple shot and killed during a home invasion were remembered at a visitation in southeast Houston Sunday night. Photographs of Leo Gomez and Milagro Vanegas were shown as their favorite music played in the background. An intruder shot the husband and wife in their home last week. Vanegas' son spoke publicly for the first time Sunday night.

"It's really a tragedy, what happened to our parents. But we have to confront the bad things and the good things. And I think the community has lost two very nice persons," said the victims' son, Sergio Pena.

The killer is still on the loose. The family urges anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
