Shuttle launch schedules announced

NASA is planning ahead to the end of the space shuttle missions. Today they announced the dates for the remaining launches. Ten flights are planned from now until the last mission on May 31, 2010.

  • October 10 - STS 125
  • November 10 - STS 126
  • 2009

  • February 12 - STS 119
  • May 15 - STS 127
  • July 30 - STS 128
  • October 15 - STS 129
  • December 10 - STS 130
  • 2010

  • February 11 - STS 131
  • April 8 - STS 132
  • May 31 - STS 133 - The final space shuttle flight
As always, dates could change due to unforeseen circumstances.

There is a five year gap between the retirement of the shuttle fleet and the next generation of manned spacecraft.
