Suspected car thief caught red handed

HOUSTON It all began when a resident heard his dog barking loudly in the backyard of his home on Rosslyn near West 43rd. The resident went to check it out and heard noises across the street. That's when he saw a man breaking into several cars.

The resident called 911 and officers caught the suspect inside a Range Rover he had broken into.

The suspect tried to run and started to pull something from his pocket. That's when the officer used a Taser to subdue the suspect. He was taken into custody.

Police later learned the suspect was trying to get rid of a crack pipe in his pocket.
