Toddler fatally struck by SUV in driveway

HOUSTON It's hard to imagine a situation much more horrifying than the one which unfolded last night in northeast Houston, especially if you're a parent. A man was backing his SUV out of the driveway of a home on Jensen near Vance just before 8:30pm. Police say the father's two-year-old son came running out of the house and the Chevy Suburban ran over the child.

The unidentified child was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead around 9pm. Investigators don't think the father was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

That fatality happened less than two weeks after a 15-month-old Montgomery County girl was pinned underneath her family's SUV. The parked vehicle somehow rolled over Vanessa Bieir and her daughter, Chloe.

The child died. Bieir was rushed to the hospital, where she underwent a successful emergency C-section.
