Copperheads bashed by Battle Wings

BOSSIER CITY, LA The Battle Wings set the tone on their first offensive play as Gary Cooper went deep to Manwell Talbert for a 45-yard touchdown. Bossier-Shreveport was ahead to stay 7-0. After Nick Gatto converted a 28-yard field goal to narrow the lead to 7-3, Cooper would again find Talbert for a score, this time a 14-yard strike. Gatto's FG would be the only points scored by Texas in the first half.

Bossier-Shreveport scored the final 14 points of the game as Cooper found Gerrell Golightly and Dustin Johnson for a pair of 14-yard TDs.

The game was delayed for approximately ten minutes when Copperheads LB/DL Julian Hill was injured near the end of the third quarter. It is believed that Hill experienced a stinger and should recover. Hill will be hospitalized overnight.

The Copperheads return to the Berry Center on June 21 for a 7:30pm meeting with the Corpus Christi Sharks.
