Suspect shot in missing person investigation

HOUSTON It all started over the weekend when Houston resident Stacey Lockett checked into a motel on Tomball Parkway in northwest Harris County. When cleaning crews entered the room, they found a bloody scene and Lockett was missing.

Then this morning around midnight in southeast Houston, marshals from a special task force were aiding in tracking down two suspects who were apparently using Lockett's cell phone.

Marshals surrounded the suspects at a gas station at Reed at MLK. The suspects, who were in a white Dodge Charger registered to Lockett, were able to drive around a barricade set up by the marshals. The marshals then fired seven to eight shots, hitting one of the suspects in the arm.

The suspects then drove down about two blocks to MLK and Beldart, jumped out of the car, ran and tried to hide, but were caught.

We're told investigators found the Lockett's driver's license and other personal items in the car. They also found blood in the trunk of the vehicle.

Police are still investigating the missing persons case and say they've not found a body.

As for the suspect, he was in surgery this morning.
