Klein ISD voters head to polls, Pearland voters don't

HOUSTON The Klein school district is facing serious overcrowding. Since the last bond election, the district has grown by 6,000 students. The proposal calls for three new elementary schools, two intermediates and a high school.

Opponents say that's not enough schools and want to work out a better plan. Supporters say waiting will only make building costs go up and impact taxpayers more.

Tomorrow's Pearland city election has been canceled because there weren't enough people running. Every single candidate on the ballot was running unopposed, making an election unnecessary.
