Elementary students win writing contest

Seven elementary students wrote their way to a win in the 14th Annual Reading Rainbow contest. The first place winners will represent Houston's Public Broadcasting Station in the national contest.The annual contest challenges children in kindergarten through third grade to draw upon their verbal and artistic abilities by writing and illustrating their own picture storybooks. Judging was based on different criteria for each grade level. Each entry had to include at least five original illustrations.
