Hooks get ready for 8-game homestand

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX And a series of promotions at Whataburger Field are coming up. Here's a look at the festivities day-by-day.

Saturday: Hooks vs. San Antonio Missions, 4:05pm -- The first 2,500 fans receive a Craig Biggio Figurine, courtesy of Wigington Rumley. Gates open at 2:30.

The Figurine captures Biggio during his final farewell at Minute Maid Park after 3,060 hits and a 20-year Hall-of-Fame career.

Sunday: Hooks vs. Missions, 2:05pm -- Kids are the name of the game on Sundays at Whataburger Field.

The first 1,500 kids 12 and under receive Hooks Kids' Gloves, courtesy of Sanders Morris Harris. The youngsters can put their new hardware to good use as kids get to run the bases and play catch in the outfield postgame.

Come out early for a Rusty's Kids Club party in the plaza just inside the Right Field gate and a pre-game parade featuring the Ingleside Little League.

The Girl Scouts are having a "Me & My Guy Day" at the ballpark and will provide a color guard for the National Anthem.

Collegiate High School Day at Whataburger Field recognizes honor roll students with complimentary tickets. Other members of the school community receive $3 off the price of reserved seat and general admission tickets. This program is underwritten by the Hooks and Flint Hills Resources.

Is there a trumpet player in the house? Mariachis provide pregame entertainment on the main concourse from 12:30-1:45pm.

Monday: Hooks vs. Missions, 7:05pm -- Join us for our Cinco de Mayo Celebration presented by Reliant Energy. You'll have the chance to make some noise as Reliant gives thundersticks to the first 5,000 fans. Mariachis are set to serenade in between innings.

It's also Hooks Heroes Night, featuring fan-favorite Jonny Ash. Just $5 nets an Ash t-shirt, hot dog and soda, subject to availability. Ask at the Whataburger Field Box Office for details. Fans also have the chance to vote on future 2008 Hooks Heroes.

Cricket Communications is giving away two cell phones with six months of service (a $500 value). Register at their table on the concourse.

Tuesday: Hooks vs. Missions, 7:05pm Its Miller High School Night at Whataburger Field as we recognize honor roll students with complimentary tickets. Other members of the school community receive $3 off the price of reserved seat and general admission tickets. This program is underwritten by the Hooks and Flint Hills Resources.

Wednesday: Hooks vs. Frisco RoughRiders, 7:05 – The first 2,500 fans receive a Hooks Duffle Bag, compliments of Prosperity Bank.

As always on Wednesday, present your Whataburger receipt at the box office to purchase up to four reserved tickets at half-price, subject to availability.

Ray High School Night at Whataburger Field recognizes honor roll students with complimentary tickets. Other members of the school receive $3 off the price of reserved seat and general admission tickets. This program is underwritten by the Hooks and Flint Hills Resources.

Thursday: Hooks vs. RoughRiders, 7:05pm -- Whataburger Field doubles as an institute of higher education Thursday with College Night. All students with a valid college ID enjoy a $3 discount on reserved seats and general admission tickets.

King High School will be recognized as honor roll students are rewarded with complimentary tickets. Other members of the school receive $3 off the price of reserved seat and general admission tickets. This program is underwritten by the Hooks and Flint Hills Resources.

Friday, May 9, Hooks vs. RoughRiders, 7:05 – "Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle ... Costanza?" The Hooks pay homage to the Emmy award-winning sitcom Seinfeld, which aired its final episode ten years ago this month.

Fans have a chance to win a custom-made Hooks game jersey by taking part in Seinfeld-Baseball trivia throughout the evening. Be on the lookout for some of your favorite clips and special in-game features, highlighted by an appearance from Body-Suit Man.
