Naked man leads police on wild chase

HOUSTON [SEE IMAGES FROM CHASE]

It began in the Independence Heights area, where a patrol officer noticed a man hanging out a car window with no clothes.

An officer approached the parked vehicle and saw the man inside reach below the seat. The officer thought the man was reaching for a weapon, so he ordered the naked man out of the car.

It turned out the man was really reaching for his pants, and decided to start his car up and flee instead of complying with the patrolman's command.

The chase ended up winding through areas along 38th Street, Wakefield, Ella and T.C. Jester. The man finally crashed into a fence.

Because of the collision, the man got pinned inside his car and couldn't run.

Police say the suspect did resist arrest and was slightly injured in a scuffle with an officer. An EMS crew treated him at the scene. Officers took him into custody, and they say he has a criminal history and a warrant for fleeing police.
