More than 50 Harris County departments will take part, along with firefighters, paramedics, police, transportation officials and members of industry. They will conduct a drill to see what would happen if a Category 5 hurricane hit the state.
Hurricane drill scheduled today for Harris Co.
HOUSTON The statewide hurricane drill, known as Hurrex, begins this morning at Houston Transtar. The annual hurricane exercise is coordinated by the governor's Division of Emergency Management.
