UH senior Angel Shamblin (27-2) struck out 10 for her seventh double-digit strikeout game this year. She allowed just one hit and walked one. Her ERA is now 0.57.
No. 9 Houston improves to 18-6 in the all-time series against the Blazers.
Houston will return home for a doubleheader against Louisiana-Lafayette on April 30. First pitch is set for 4pm. Houston will hold a ceremony to present the 2007 C-USA Championship team with their rings following the second game.
The Cougars will then close out conference play with a series against UTEP on May 3-4. Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 1pm. The four seniors, including Angel Shamblin, Barbie Love, Amanda Grote and Courtney Spittler will be honored in between the May 3 doubleheader. The series will wrap up on May 4 at 1pm.
