Steve Murphy's 15th home run of 2008, a solo shot an inning earlier, gave Frisco a 2-0 lead. Consecutive doubles by Elvis Andrus and Vallejo provided the visitors with a 1-0 first-inning advantage.
Corpus Christi starter Polin Trinidad (3-4) went seven innings and did not walk a batter. He struck out six.

He scored the other Hooks run two innings later on Jarred Ball's groundout.
