Zip code changes coming to Houston area

HOUSTON The US Postal Service is creating new zip codes for those three communities. The new zip codes, which go into effect July 1, are as follows:

Baytown: Changes from 77520 to 77523
Richmond: Changes from 77469 to 77406 and 77407
Sugar Land: Changes from 77478 to 77498

"These ZIP Code changes are necessary due to high levels of mail delivery growth in each of these communities," said Teresa Brady, Post Office Operations Manager. "These additional ZIP Codes will ensure efficient mail delivery for all residents."

Customers impacted by these ZIP Code changes will be notified by mail of their new ZIP Code between May 15 and June 1, 2008.
