Deer Park ISD to vote on time change

April 21, 2008 8:13:32 AM PDT
Deer Park ISD votes today on its controversial proposal to change the hours for high school students. The plan calls for students at Deer Park High School to report to class at 9am and be dismissed at 4pm. The first bell currently rings at 7:25am.

School officials say the plan would allow more time to tutor students. However, many parents are against it. They believe it would interfere with after-school jobs and increase the possibility of them getting into trouble.
