Three adults, two of them elderly, risked their lives to save five young children from a fire. The fire started around 10:30pm last night on Gay Street and Melbourne. Five young children were staying with their grandparents when the fire broke out.

The grandparents suffered first and second degree burns as they fought to get the kids out the home. They had to the hospital, along with a neighbor who also happens to be a family member. That family member was cut while trying to break windows to the house during the escape.

"At this time we've got arson en route to help us with because we have limited information since they were transported to the hospital on what happened so we are going to get arson to assist us with the investigation," said Kevin Carley with the Houston Fire Department.

The family lost everything inside the home but they were grateful all of the children got out safely.
