Relatives say the victims were Jorge Leal and a woman he had been dating recently. Their bodies were discovered by Leal's daughter around 2pm. He didn't show up for a morning golf game and didn't answer his phone. So Leal's daughter eventually came by the house to check on him, and that's when she realized something was terribly wrong.
"When she walked in the door, I think she said she saw the woman first, the girlfriend," recalled Mary Gonzales, the victim's ex-wife. "Then she saw her dad in the back door, because there's a back door to the patio. She went and kicked him and said, 'Wake up. Dad, wake up.' And then when she noticed he wasn't moving."
Police aren't calling this a break-in, but they say someone forced their way into the home. They say the front door had some type of damage.
According to unconfirmed reports from relatives, they tell us Leal was shot in the eye.
Police have not released the victims' name. An investigation is ongoing.
