Runoff elections held today

April 8, 2008 4:18:10 AM PDT
Today's the runoff election for several seats in Harris County. One race on that list is for the Republican nominee for Harris County district attorney, the position vacated by Chuck Rosenthal. Assistant DA Kelly Siegler and former Judge Pat Lykos are running for the nomination. The winner will face Democrat and former Houston Police Chief C.O. Bradford, who ran unopposed.

The other big runoff race is for District 22, the congressional seat once held by Tom DeLay. Shelley Sekula-Gibbs or Pete Olson will take on Democratic incumbent Nick Lampson in the fall.

Before you head to the polls today, you'll want to double check where you go to vote. In Harris County, election officials have decided to consolidate several polling sites. You can find a full list of polling locations on the bottom right hand side of this page.
