Officers turn down plea deal in inmate death

Two Pasadena police officers, charged in the death of an inmate, will head to trial later this month.Officers Jason Buckaloo and Christopher Jones turned down plea deals on Tuesday. Each is charged with criminally negligent homicide in the death of Pedro Gonzales, Jr., last summer. Prosecutors offered them one year in prison in exchange for guilty pleas.

If convicted, each officer could face up to two years behind bars. Their trial is set for April 25.
