Horns pelted by Nebraska's 17-hit attack

Ben Kline and Mitch Abeita batted in three runs apiece for Nebraska, which beat Texas 14-4 on Friday night. Jake Opitz homered for Nebraska. DJ Belfonte, Craig Corriston and Dan Johnston each had two RBIs for the Cornhuskers (20-3-1, 6-0-1 Big 12).

Nebraska outhit Texas 17-7. The Longhorns also committed three errors.

Michael Torres went 1-for-4 with two RBIs for the Longhorns (17-7, 4-3).

Johnny Dorn (3-0) got the win, giving up four runs on four hits over five innings. He struck out one and walked one. Dan Jennings earned his first save, pitching four innings of hitless relief. Jennings struck out four and walked one.

Keith Shinaberry (1-1) faced one batter, giving up a walk, but took the loss. Shinaberry was charged with one run on no hits.
