Loop 610 chase turns fatal

HOUSTON The crash blocked all the southbound lanes of the West Loop near Westheimer for a couple hours. Police say the woman took off when they tried to pull her over on 610 and Yale this afternoon. Investigators say she wasn't going very fast, but a short time later, the chase ended with a crash.

"It started out at about 25 miles per hour, we got on the freeway, she lost control hit the wall and got ejected, and basically got transported," said David Balderaz with the Houston Police Department.

The woman later died at the hospital. Her name has not been released.
