Special steps for some to get stimulus checks

HOUSTON You must fill out a tax return, and while for many people that will not be a problem, millions of Americans do not fill out tax returns. Retirees and those on disability typically are not required to fill out tax forms, but if they hope to get one of the checks, they must file a return this year.

The IRS will be sending information to those who do not usually file returns.

Lea Crusberg with the IRS explained, "It includes information, a notice sample form as well as a blank form they can go ahead and send to the Internal Revenue Service."

The checks should start arriving in May.
